Science

“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.”

― Carl Sagan

At Chudleigh Primary School, we want to encourage every child to be curious about the world around them and to ask questions about their experiences. We want them to learn how to look for answers in a scientific way, using observations, taking measurements and testing their ideas. We want them to share their findings and use that to inform their conclusions.

We believe that children learn best by starting from their existing knowledge and experiences and see our Enquiry-based curriculum as a way of supporting this. By asking questions which engage children’s curiosity, and by starting from their own understanding and ideas, we want them to explore the natural world and grow as scientists.
