The structure and remit of the Governing Board and any committees

The three core functions of the Governing Board are 

  • Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

The Full Governing Board meetsmonthly through the school year. Each governor has an area of responsibility covering the three core functions of the Board. These responsibilities are: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Safeguarding, Christian Distinctiveness, Curriculum, Standards and Achievement, Finance, Health and Safety, Premises and Personnel.  A separate Pay and Performance committee meets annually. The Headteacher’s Appraisal committee meets twice a year.
